2011 Production: Call for Choreographic Submissions

After two inspiring and successful years of inviting some of the Twin Cities’ most exciting jazz and rhythm-based choreographers to present their choreographic work, Rhythmically Speaking is thrilled to announce that submissions for our 3rd annual choreographers showcase will be open to the public. This year’s self-produced show will be bringing down the house August 25-27, 2011 at the Southern Theater. Emerging and established choreographers alike are encouraged to apply with new or existing work in the realm of jazz and rhythm-based dance. Questioning how jazz and rhythm-based dance are defined in this situation? The answer: You tell us. We are excited to be figuring out what that means to this community, and encourage you to apply with anything you think may fit.

Submissions are due Friday, April 15th. Choreographer selection will be posted to this page on May 4th.

Mandatory dates;

Choreographer Orientation Meeting: Sunday, May 22nd from 10am-12pm

Progress Showing: Sunday, July 24th, 10am-12pm

Tech Rehearsal: A half-hour to hour period of time between 2-10pm Tue, Aug 23rd or 2-6pm Wed, Aug 24th

Dress Rehearsal: 6-10pm Wednesday, August 24th

Shows: Thurs, Aug 25th – Sat, Aug 27th (6:30pm call, 8pm show), Sat, Aug 27th (3:30pm call, 5pm show)

Strike: Immediately following the 8pm show on Saturday, August 27th
