Basic Music Theory for Dancers; Coming Up October 15th!

‘Basic Music Theory for Dancers,’ A Rhythmically Speaking Community Forum

A lot of dancers have basic music training (we understand the difference between 4/4 and 3/4 time, a quarter note and a whole note, etc.), but could use some more knowledge about the structures behind that training. Led by revered local composer Dameun Strange (www.dameunstrange.com), this forum will be an informal dialogue on how the musical elements of rhythmic structure, harmonic and melodic form, timbre and expression tools such as dynamics and articulation can be understood and translated into dance. This discussion is perfect for performers and choreographers interested in sharpening their ability to use music as a driving force in their art.

Please RSVP to the Facebook event. Questions? Thoughts? Ideas? They are truly welcomed. Toss an email to Erinn and Heather at info@rhythmicallyspeakingdance.org. See you there!

Groove on!
