Rhythmically Speaking is excited to announce that we are seeking submissions for our 5th annual choreographers showcase, running August 15-17 at the Southern Theater. We are proud to support some of the Twin Cities’ best jazz and rhythm-driven dance each year, and look forward to seeing what you have to offer. Emerging and established choreographers alike are encouraged to apply with new or existing work in jazz and rhythm-based dance. Not sure what we mean by jazz and rhythm-based dance? You tell us. We are excited to be figuring out what that means to this community, and encourage you to join the conversation by applying.

Important Dates:
– May 19: Mandatory meeting for selected choreographers (7-9pm)
– July 7: Mandatory progress showing (7-9pm)
– August 12-14: Tech
– August 15-17: Shows

Compensation: Stipend provided.

Details: A video sample is strongly encouraged, but not required. All video submissions must be posted to Vimeo. Video of the work being applied with is strongly encouraged, but if not available, work in a very similar style should be submitted. While the work can be between three and twenty minutes, submissions of ten minutes or more are strongly encouraged.

Submission Form: Download here.

Please send completed Submission Form to info@rhythmicallyspeakingdance.org by April 15. Choreographer selection will be posted here May 1. Feel free to contact with questions. We look forward to seeing your work, and thank you for your interest.
